Mark Visser
Assistant Pastor
Mark Visser was saved on August 24, 1993. Born and raised in a Christian home, he came to understand that no amount of good works works could pay for sin––only the blood of Jesus is sufficient. God used key verses from the Bible like John 3:16, Acts 16:31, and Ephesians 2:8-9 to help him see his personal need to depend on Jesus Christ alone to save him from sin and hell. Mark came to confident assurance of eternal life on the basis of God's faithfulness to keep His Word. He was baptized shortly thereafter as a public identification of his faith alone in Christ for salvation.
At the age of 9, God called Mark to be a preacher, and in November 1999, the Lord used the Great Commission in Matthew 28:19-20 to impress on his heart the call specifically to be an evangelist. During his highschool years, Mark served in various children's outreach ministries at Burge Terrace Baptist Church in Indianapolis, Indiana. Mark also developed an interest in politics and served on staff at a conservative lobby firm in the state of Indiana. God used Mark's experience in the government arena to convince him that the answer for America is not in the White House or the court house, but in the church house. The transforming power of God, at work in and through the lives of His people, is the only hope America has. Mark received his Master of Arts in Theology in 2012 at Baptist College of Ministry and Theological Seminary in Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin, and he subsequently served on staff at Falls Baptist Church in a variety of evangelistic and managerial capacities including university campus outreach, Guest Services coordinator, and Church Office manager. Mark also taught first-year New Testament Greek in the Bible college and led a weekly young men's discipleship class. In 2015, Mark transitioned to StoneRidge Baptist Church in Bloomington, Indiana, serving in a variety of local church ministries. In 2020, he completed a church-planting internship at StoneRidge, and formally came on staff in April of the same year. Mark Visser was ordained to gospel ministry on August 2, 2020. Mark Visser is burdened to see the power of the gospel at work in today's culture to transform lives for eternity. More than ever, our world needs to see firsthand that God is alive and able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think for His ultimate glory, both now and forever. Jesus is coming soon, and we must be ready to meet Him! |
