hMission Trip to the Island of Palawan in the Philippines
July 25 – August 9, 2013
Our church was able to send out its first short term mission team this past summer to the Island of Palawan in the Philippines. Our team of seven members ministered in High Schools and Public Universities by preaching the gospel in their classrooms. While serving Christ, the team was able to give a verbal presentation of the gospel to about 7,000 Filipino students. We praise God for the wide open doors of opportunity to minister and for the many souls that came to Christ during this evangelistic campaign. God was faithful to provide financial and prayer support through our church family.

Brian & Erin Bollon, and their children, Isabel, Emmett, Author, and Owen joined us for our Sunday services on September 15 as they raised deputation support as missionaries to Taiwan. Brian preached for the Morning Worship Service and took us through his mission’s presentation on Taiwan. We had a Picnic Lunch and Afternoon Service at Karst Farm Park in which many from our church gave testimonies about God’s working in their lives. Brian and Erin are both dedicated students of the Word and have demonstrated faithfulness to the Lord throughout their years of deputation. They are praying to have their full support to leave for Taiwan in 2014.

Jason & Leigha Carpenter, Missionaries to Cambodia
May 4, 2014
Jason and Leigha were the first of two missionary families that we were able to have during our Mission’s Emphasis Month. The Carpenters are planning to take an active role in training nationals in Cambodia by working with veteran missionary Dr. Tom. Jason’s strong burden to teach will help equip trained Cambodian pastors, who will plant churches in villages following a week of evangelistic meetings. God used Jason’s missionary internship in Cambodia in 2011-2012 to sharpen his focus and to define his role in serving in Cambodia as part of an exciting missionary team.

Matthew Patenaude, Translation Instructor to India
September 21, 2014
Matthew Patenaude grew up speaking Mandarin Chinese, since his parents were missionaries in China. He served as a missionary along with his wife Carrie and children Ransom, Jacob and Melody in China and Mongolia before settling in Bloomington to evangelize the Chinese students at Indiana University. Ken Fielder from WorldView Ministries recruited Matthew to teach a block class to Bible college students in India, who are receiving formal training to translate the Scriptures into various Indian languages. On September 21, Matthew will share his burden to teach and our church will spend some time praying for God’s blessing on his short term teaching assignment.

Fifty-three percent of residents in the Bronx speak Spanish. The Hamiltons are missionary church planters serving with Baptist World Missions.
Eric and Katie Graham, Church Planters in South Africa
March 13, 2016
We were blessed by a visit from furloughing missionaries, Eric and Katie Graham, who serve as church planters in South Africa. It was a blessing to watch their missionary video presentation. Several of their church members shared their heart for the Lord and His work. We enjoyed a time of fellowship with them during a Pitch-in Lunch at noon. They expect to return to Cape Town, South Africa in May. They have 4 children -- Abigail, Hannah, Lydia, and Benjamin.
Matthew Patenaude, serving with Worldview Ministries
May 15, 2016
It was a great joy to have Matthew Patenaude present his ministry of facilitating Bible translation projects to unreached people groups through WorldView Ministries. It is stirring to recognize how many people groups still do not have God's Word in their mother-language. Even with modern advances, one in twelve people do not have God's Word in their own primary language. Although the need is great, we have the privilege to help make a difference in our generation. Matthew and Carrie are active members in our own church ministry along with their children Ransom, Jacob and Melody.
Stephen and Christina Rains, missionaries to Kenya
August 28, 2016
Stephen and Christina Rains and their 4 young children (Levi, Brooklyn, Amberlee, and Andrew) ministered to us during their deputation ministry. They are called of the Lord to serve in Kenya assisting in the church plant led by Stephen's brother, Michael, who has served there many years. We enjoyed fellowship with them at a Pitch-in Lunch after the morning service, followed by an afternoon missions service.

January 25, 2017
Brady and Sarah Van Winkle presented the field of Turkey on this Wednesday night. They are on deputation. There are 80,000,000 people in Turkey which is 98% Muslim. We watched a short video presentation about Turkey, then Brady shared his call to the field and gave a message from 2 Chronicles 16. The Van Winkles are planning a survey trip to Turkey in April when they hope to find a missionary couple with whom they can partner for their initial entry onto the field. Upon arrival in Turkey, they will seek to learn the language and culture before moving into the evangelizing/discipleship stage. Then they will move on to plant a church.

Stephen Wivell, Ministry Trip to Chad, Africa
November 19, 2017
Stephen Wivell showed a visual presentation of his recent ministry to Chad, Africa with Baptist Mid-Missions' Pastoral Enrichment Program. The trip was from October 18 to November 4. He served on a team with two other men from PEP. The primary purpose of the trip was to team teach a two week course in Effective Christian Leadership to a class of 142 church leaders and Bible School students. He also preached in three local churches during his visit. Our church gave a love offering to Brother Wivell to help with the expenses of the trip. Stephen and his wife, Jan, served 40 years with Baptist Mid-Missions to the field of Australia. Since their retirement, they have been active members in our church. An added blessing of this trip is that their daughter, Anna Beth, is a missionary serving in Chad. She was thrilled to have her dad visit her there.
